About Gracie Glass Bingley

Gracie Glass Bingley

My obsession with all things glass began with a local two-day copper foil glass workshop. From the very first piece, I fell in love with the entire process—the colours and textures of the glass, the materials, the precision, and the deep level of concentration it required. For once, my busy brain had no choice but to slow down and focus, and I found that incredibly rewarding.

From there, I went on to attend local fused glass and stained glass workshops, eager to learn more. I researched how to continue creating at home and discovered that it was possible to buy small glass kilns that fit inside a microwave. That discovery sealed it—I was completely hooked. I began making fused glass Christmas tree decorations for friends and family, and watching the glass transform in the kiln felt like pure magic every time.

A chance encounter with a local entrepreneur changed everything. After she asked to see photos of my creations, I was invited to sell my decorations through her business and to start running one-day copper foil glass workshops. I also regularly exhibit my work at a local art centre, continuing to share my love of glass with the wider community.

Everything I do sits under the banner of Gracie Glass Bingley. All profits from both workshops and the sale of my handmade glass pieces are donated to the Turner Syndrome Support Society UK (TSSSUK), in loving memory of my daughter, Gracie. Through glassmaking, I honour her memory, support an important cause, and share a craft that has brought me so much joy and purpose.
